An 86-year-old bedridden male patient with failed hip fracture fixation surgery done elsewhere just 2 months earlier successfully underwent Revision surgery in form of Total Hip Replacement (THR) at Saraf Hospital, Gwalior under the expert care of Dr. Aman Saraf – Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon.

The patient had severe implant failure and was unable to walk, remaining bedridden with significant pain and loss of independence. Despite advanced age and the complexity of revision surgery, the patient underwent successful surgery FREE OF COST under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

✅ Failed fixation converted to Total Hip Replacement
✅ Major surgery successfully performed at 86 years of age
✅ Standing & walking comfortably from Day 1 after surgery with proper precautions
✅ No prolonged bed rest advised
✅ Early mobilisation helping prevent complications of prolonged immobilisation in elderly patients

This case highlights the importance of restoring mobility and independence in senior citizens, even at advanced age. Early movement after surgery helps reduce risks of bed sores, chest infection, muscle wasting, blood clots, and dependence on others.

Pre-operative and Post-operative X-rays attached demonstrate the successful conversion from failed fixation surgery to stable revision hip replacement.
